Jonny Stax Presents, Inc. is hiring a part-time paid production stage manager to help manage BigTop JoJo and his Towering Show of Wonder, a show we are premiering in June 2010 in dance and rock clubs.  BigTop JoJo and his Towering Show of Wonder celebrates the freak in all of us with a fantastical caravan of audacious performers, mythical creatures, and thrilling acts of virtuosity.  Transforming nightclubs and rock venues into mystical midways, BigTop JoJo offers adventurous audiences an experiential extravaganza of magic and music, dancers and dreamscapes, comedy and curiosities.

Duties

The production stage manager will schedule and run rehearsals, support the designers to execute the vision of the director, coordinate with the booking agent to schedule performances, manage the booking and logistics of guest and featured performers, stage manage performances in June, schedule and train assistant stage managers to run shows beyond June, schedule and coordinate sound and board operators, manage load-in and load-out of performance spaces, and other duties necessary to support the production and stage management of the circus. 

Requirements

Candidates should have experience in production and stage management and have their own mode of transportation and communication.  They need to be able to work from home and at unconventional hours. Performances in June run each Saturday night from 8-10pm and one Monday night.  Ability to lead a team, create a project from the ground up, and work in unconventional settings is necessary.

Details

This contract will be part-time starting immediately and run through the end of June or July with opportunity for renewal and expansion of position at that time.  The compensation will be a competitive part-time salary.  Interested individuals should send their resume and cover letter to greenroom@scootyjojo.com.
