Jonathan (Jonny) Stacks is founder and president of Jonny Stax, Inc. Currently working with Chicago Children’s Theatre as Director of External Affairs, Jonny recently served as Interim Executive Director for About Face Theatre and facilitated that company’s strategic planning process. His other clients include Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health, Test Positive Aware Network, Chicago Department of Public Health and Chicago Public Schools, as well as other arts and social justice organizations, government agencies, entrepreneurs, and individual artists.
Jonny is Executive Producer and “JoJo” of The Scooty and JoJo Show, known for their cult classic hits Alien Queen, Carpenters Halloween and Diva Brunch. He also created and manages the carnival-themed entertainment BigTop JoJo. Prior to entering the world of arts and entertainment, he led efforts at the national, state and local levels to improve sexual health education in schools and has numerous peer-reviewed publications from that work. He serves as vice president of the board of directors for the Robert Crown Centers for Health Education. Jonny was raised in Lompoc, California, and received his Master of Social Work from University of Washington. During his studies he worked with the Center for Intergroup Dialogue, Education, and Action, exploring how social identity impacts our participation in society.
