Scooty & JoJo Variety

Sonny & Cher meets the Muppets. On acid.

Scooty & JoJo have been putting on various incarnations of their “club act” since Fall of 1999 when Scooty invited JoJo to be his accompanist for a celebration of the Kander-Ebb musical Cabaret at Seattle’s shuttered-but-never-to-be-forgotten great tranny divebar Foxes. Since then, they have performed as a song-and-comedy-and-puppets team throughout the country. Below is a quick retrospective of highlights once we established ourselves in Chicago.

THANK GOD! IT’S THE SCOOTY & JOJO SHOW played at Chicago’s Mary’s Attic November 6 to December 12, 2007. DIVA BRUNCH played Chicago’s The Spot 2009-2011. On March 1st, 2009, Chicago’s first “wear your pancake and eat it too” variety brunch extravaganza was born – DIVA BRUNCH.  Every Sunday, The Spot’s main dining room was transformed into a gilded glamor den where guests could feast on specialty brunch cuisine as Divas and Dames of all genders provided the entertainment.  Scooty & JoJo hosted DIVA BRUNCH every week throughout 2009 and then shared hosting duties with guest acts throughout 2010 and 2011.
